The Myth Of Green Energy or Clean Energy

The terms green energy and renewable energy are often used frequently. But there is one essential difference between them. Most green energy sources are also renewable. Not all renewable energy sources are considered entirely green.

Clean energy, when used, does not pollute the atmosphere; creating little or no greenhouse gases. It’s a myth. At a glance, it may look cleaner, but establishing clean energy resources is never cleaner. It’s a newer business, a politically backed myth

Take the case of a Lithium battery used in electric cars. An average of 500 Ton of earth need to be mined and processed to make lithium for a single battery. To purify Lithium from the ore, it needs 75 loads of Acid. Imagine the number of fossil fuels and nuclear energy used for the mining and processing of lithium.  Adding to the above, A lithium battery also contains elements like Nickel, Manganese, Cobalt, Copper, Aluminium, steel & plastic. Imagine the usage of Hydrocarbon fuel and electricity used in the process of refining the elements for making the battery. All the non-clean polluting energy (carbon footprint) involved for a car's clean energy output of 5 years. It’s totally illogical.

A similar process is applicable for manufacturing and establishing wind farms and solar power fields. As per the business studies on renewable energy, The average life of a wind turbine or solar field is 25 years. The installation will take an average of 15 years to make a breakthrough against the carbon footprint it generated while manufacturing and establishing the equipment; with 100% efficiency. Remember these fields have an efficiency ranging from 30% to 50 %

The above statistics are for the manufacturing and installation of renewable or clean energy resources. After the life expectancy,  renewable energy equipment is very difficult to recycle. it usually ends up in junkyards or  It needs huge energy to convert those parts to make them non-toxic; to earth beings.

Renewable energy is not clean as you think. It is also not free of cost. It takes its own sweet carbon footprint indirectly. Then the question arises, why promote green energy? It’s a new business model backed by policymakers. New high-value markets are open as people become more aware and conscious of hydrocarbon pollution and climate change. People are that are ready to invest blindly.  In the pretext of saving the world.

The term fossil fuel is also fun, usually, the oldest fossils are found 2 to 2.5 Km beneath the sea bed. But current crude oil rigs are operating beyond 3.2 Km beneath the sea bed
