A School time tale -1

I remember one real life incident happen to me when I was 7 years old (3rd standard). It is up to the readers to judge the emotion showed by the main character in this small event.

My lower primary schooling was at a small village in Kerala, called “Manimala”. Our school, St Stephan’s school was the only English medium school in that village- town. I was admitted to the school and was continuing my schooling at the school. I used to walk almost 1.5 kilometer to reach the school. It was fun with lot of friends. By the time I reached 3rd standard, My little sister also got admitted to the same school, In LKG

Due to some reason we shifted our home to a little interior place called “Cheruvalli”, so to reach the school me and my little sister have to board a public transport Bus and travel almost 5 km to reach the school . As my sister was very small, My mother make some arrangements with some girls students studying in a government school near to our school. After our school, we have wait for the girls at their school gate. Our school finishes by 3.30 pm and their school finishes by 4.00 pm. Therefore, we have to spend half an hour near to their school gate.

One day it started raining heavily while we were standing outside the gate , we all got drenched and our umbrellas was not sufficient to protect us from the heavy rain. We were not having any options rather than standing in rain. All of a sudden, we could hear a woman voice calling us, "Hey Kids" we lifted our heads to find the woman teacher of the classroom near to the gate of government school is calling us. She insisted us to go inside her classroom until the rain is subsidized. We happily obey it, she even asked the senior students to offer some seat to us.

I was thinking, what could be the emotion that she had for helping some hapless students. She even took a risk of admitting some strange people inside her classroom, bending all the school rules. Is it the act of empathy? Or the motherly love she felt inside?

Our life is so simple; we make it so complex by not seeking help. Most of the people can help, you if you seek; the remaining can proactively react to a situation and help you without being asked. We usually are so hesitant to seek help, because of ego, Pride, Inferiority complex and all the unwanted feeling of our logical mind.
